Help test Kanaiic Reader on Google Play

Kanaiic Reader is a free, private Bible reader for Android. It works completely offline, has no accounts, no ads and no tracking, and keeps your highlights and notes encrypted on your phone. It’s already available from kanaiic.com/reader, and now I’m putting it on Google Play so more people can find it.

It also has an optional disguise, for believers in places where owning a Bible can be risky. Turn it on in Settings → Disguise → Dictionary, and the app looks and works like an ordinary dictionary. To get back to the Bible, hold the Search button until the box clears, type your code, and hold Search again. The disguise is off unless you choose it, and the steps are always shown at the top of Settings.

Before Google will publish a new app, it has to be tested by at least 12 people for 14 days in a row. That’s where you come in.

What’s involved

  • An Android phone and a Google account (the one you use for the Play Store).
  • Keep the app installed for at least 14 days, and open it now and then: read a chapter, try a highlight or a note.
  • If you’re willing, try the dictionary disguise too, and switch back with Settings → Disguise → Kanaiic Reader.
  • If anything seems odd or confusing, tell me at hello@kanaiic.com. Even a one-line message helps.

How to join

  1. Join the testers group: groups.google.com/g/kanaiic-reader-testers. Use the same Google account as your Play Store.
  2. Open play.google.com/apps/testing/com.kanaiic.reader and tap Become a tester.
  3. Install Kanaiic Reader from the Play Store link on that page.

Nobody else in the group can see your email address, and the app itself collects nothing. See the privacy policy.

Thank you for helping. I pray the app is a blessing to you and to the people it eventually reaches.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105
