Privacy policy
Kanaiic Reader collects no data. It has no internet permission, so it cannot send anything anywhere.
What we collect
Nothing. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no connection to any server, ours or anyone else's. Android does not allow it to use the internet, because it never asks for that permission.
What stays on your phone
- Your reading data: highlights, notes, saved verses, your place and your settings. These are stored encrypted, with a key tied to your code and to your phone. We cannot read them, and there is no copy anywhere else.
- The dictionary disguise, if you use it: recent dictionary lookups and notes written in its Notes tab are stored on the phone without encryption, like any ordinary dictionary app. Its PDF tab only reads the file you pick and keeps no record of it.
- Backups, only if you make one: the app writes an encrypted file to a place you choose, locked with a passphrase you choose. Where that file goes afterwards is up to you.
Sharing
We share nothing, because we have nothing. The download itself is served by this site or by GitHub; we keep no record that identifies you.
Deleting your data
Use Settings → Erase everything in the app, or uninstall it. Either removes everything the app stored. Backups you exported are separate files; delete them yourself.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no information from anyone.
